I helped to maintain a seawater mesocosm system being used for an experiment studying the effects of temperature change on tidal gastropods.

I worked in a small team to study the green and hawksbill sea turtle populations in Golfo Dulce, Costa Rica, managed international volunteers, including school groups, and worked with local families and fishermen.
I collected biometric data, applied internal and external tags, took tissue samples for analysis, and deployed satellite trackers.
I was also involved in seagrass surveying, mangrove replanting, and turtle rehabilitation where required.

I was responsible for the care of sick, injured or orphaned common and grey seals, following strict protocols and procedures.
In my spare time I gave tours to visitors and assisted research by Dr Ravignani into seal vocalisations by audio recording the intakes of grey seal pups and helping with playback experiments.

I studied habituated wild dwarf mongoose groups, collecting baseline data, recording calls, maintaining dye marks, and carrying out playback experiments.

I was responsible for the maintenance of club boats, two-stroke outboard engines, and all related equipment. I wrote grant applications and was awarded over £500 for new handheld GPS units and VHF radios.
Through weekly meetings, I worked in a committee of eleven members to organise trips and courses.

I volunteered on a long-term study of resident bottlenose dolphins. We recorded dolphin sightings from a boat, noting number, group composition, and behaviour, and used photo ID to update the project database.
